Disabled Child

Being someone that suffers from disabilities, I know the challenges that one might be facing. I will address any disability (mental or physical) with dignity, compassion, and purpose. If the child has a service working dog, they will be able to allow the dog to go out in the outdoor space that is in the rear of the 4th floor. If the child is in a wheelchair, then they will be fine as there are elevators to get to the fourth floor, and an elevator in the 2 story residence. The same can apply with crutches, or a walker.

Mental Health is also something to consider. I will do my best to keep the child grounded in reality, and the now. I will teach the child to plan for the future, and work with their issues. If they can’t trust me with their symptoms, then they would be able to express those to their doctor. I will make sure the child takes their medicine, and will remind them of the consequences of not taking their medicine. My goal is to be there as much as the child will want me to. I will be patient, and again come in with dignity.
