Every child coming into my foster care will receive a gift of $1,000. This money will be deposited into their bank account, and will be able to be used for whatever the child wishes to invest the money in. If they have an interest in photography, or videography, then they might get a camera. If they are a gamer, they might want to buy an Xbox, or Playstation. They don’t have to spend the money, and it could just sit into their account for whatever they may wish to have in the future. However, this is a gift, and intended to make the child’s time living with me a little more comfortable.
Obviously, being this is a gift, the child will be able to take them money with them when they leave my custody. This money is in addition to the allowance they will receive, and will be accounted for when budgeting. They will be encouraged to not spend it all at one time.
