I will not want to take on a child that is younger than 8 years old. I feel a 8 year child can learn about rules and boundaries much better. They can also start to learn about personal finance, and computer skills. Each child will receive a resource that would be available to them. I don’t think a 5 year old will benefit from all that I would provide for them. Next, they are school age children, so it would give me the time during part of the day to address issues that I might need to address without having to worry about acquiring a babysitter. This will include my own doctor appointments.
An 8 year old will also be able to receive all of the resources that I would be able to provide. This will include a bank account which the bank I will choose will offer their account to anyone 8 or older. I will also assume that the child can do basic addition and subtraction to recognize how to budget money. The child will also learn personal finance, and responsibility with their money. They will learn the consequences that spending without a budget can have without it actually affecting them when they become an adult.
