Printer

In the library (floor 3), there will be a networked connected HP color LaserJet printer. Next to the printer will be a tray for print jobs. Since this is not a private printer, you can not expect privacy on your prints. The best thing to do is be in the library when you wish to print, and collect your print job then.

If you see a low color on the screen, you should let me know as soon as possible. This will allow me to order a new cartridge so the printer can continue to print in color. If I don’t know that there is a need for a new cartridge, I can’t replace the toner.

The printer also has a fax line. Everyone in the household will be able to use the fax connection for the printer. This will work slightly different. All incoming faxes goes to a fax portal which only I have access to. You can make outgoing faxes, but only within Canada, and the United States. For this to work, the RJ11 cable must go from the printer to the ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter), and then to the LAN. This will mean the printer will take 2 of the 3 LAN ports on that particular wall.

If the foster child leaves my custody, they will not have access to the printer, or fax capabilities. Any incoming faxes for a child that is no longer in my custody will have incoming faxes forward to them (with permission) for a period of one month. After that, the faxes will be deleted or shredded.
