If a child does something to seriously misbehave, or get into significant trouble, then they will be grounded. Since a computer is integral these days, I can’t take their computer from them. However, they will surrender their phone(s). They will not have Tablo access, and they will still have to perform their chores, but while they are grounded, they will not be compensated for their chores. And since they aren’t on good behavior, they will receive that money neither. If an adult misbehaves, they go to jail. While in jail, everything is restricted, and if the inmate works, they might only make cents on the dollar of their work. Commissary is at highway robbery, so that money is not really doing anything. They will also be required to surrender their debit card. When they are to be in bed, they will surrender their computer.
I will like to hope that the grounding policy will be severe enough to keep them from misbehaving, and acting out. If they are having a bad day, that is fine. Everyone has a bad day, but you can’t take it out on people innocent of their bad day. If they are having problems, they can come to me in a mature, and sensible manner, and we will try to find solutions of the problem. I can’t change the past, but hopefully, improve the future.
