I believe that communications will be essential for everyone. However, I understand that not everyone will have the same interests that I have. With that said, I will help them make decisions in their basics of communications including an email address, telephone number, and a domain? with hosting. The reasons for this is to provide a platform where they can express themselves, and make themselves as popular on the internet as they wish.
Telephone
The child will be allowed to receive important calls (doctors, caseworkers, and so on) from the house phone. The child will be required to acquire their own phone. This could be something as simple as a wifi? phone, or a smartphone. I would actually encourage both, and also acquire a voicemail number for those places that you don’t really want to give your number to, but they claim that they might need the number. Their home phone, and cellular phone should be for those that are important in their life.
I would recommend that they get a free email account. If they want a Windows 11, they will need a Outlook.com account which will give them an @outlook.com email address. If they choose a ChromeOS, or Googlebook OS?, then they will need a Gmail account. The thing is they should have a fee email address. This will allow them to provide an address that they may or may not check regularly. I use a Gmail address for example for all of my domain email correspondences. If someone has a question about my domain, they will be able to find the Gmail address in the domain registrar?.
Domain and Hosting
I will encourage that they create their own website, or if they want to be extravagant, a domain with multiple websites. Social Networks come and go with popularity. A domain is relevant no matter what social network you might have. The hard part is to find a domain name you want since many of the good ones are taken already. It would be impossible to acquire John.com. or Jason.net. There will be a need for creativity. When acquiring a domain, this will be where the free email account, and voicemail number will come in handy.
They will also need a hosting company that would give them the features they want to have. This will depend on how intense of a project they wish to give themselves. Dreamhost used to have good plans, but one might find their options to be reliable for their needs. Please use the link here if you wish to acquire services from them. They should be able to receive email services. Assuming they have a good email client in their OS, they should be able to have an email client that supports multiple accounts. My Apple Mail client gives me a fold of all inboxes, so I don’t even know where the address went to unless I look at the address they wrote to. If the child is using ChromeOS, or Google Book OS, then they may not have such features, and may have to use their webmail client to acquire all of their host?‘s email.
